José Antonio Acosta, is an agricultural technical engineer and Pedro Cano is an architect. Both are friends of the childhood and have been studying in the same school, in the same institute and now also share a common project: the management of the Bodegas Tierra Savia, situated in the Natural Park of the North Mountain range of Seville. This project derive from the devotion that both feel for the nature and for the region in which they have been raised.

History of Tierra Savia

Tierra Savia has been an enduring presence, rooted in a cultural heritage that has survived centuries and has been transmitted from generation to generation until reaching its current custodians, Jose and Pedro, inseparable friends since childhood, who are always accompanied by PIU, their scarecrow.

The Birth of a Dream

They made the decision to start their own wine production in Cazalla de la Sierra, located in the heart of the Sierra Morena Natural Park in Seville , an area of significant environmental importance, recognized as a biosphere reserve and as one of the most emblematic points of Andalusia.

"Cazalla de la Sierra, a land of lime, mud and wood, is the place where they were born, where they currently reside and where they intend to remain."The project began almost a decade ago with the planting of the first vineyard, to which more land, both new and old, was later added, along with expansions and location changes, living longer. moments of joy rather than disappointment, although not without facing some challenges.

Transformation and Discovery

Over time, they transformed an old workshop into a charming winery located in the historic center of Cazalla de la Sierra.

They discovered that the region was home to ancient grape varieties, soils with great personality, exceptional climatic conditions and a fascinating wine history. This revelation motivated them to continue with the tradition of making wine in this place.

Growing and Breeding

The vineyards they cultivate are located between pastures of holm oaks and cork oaks, in the Mediterranean mountains, sharing the landscape with the Iberian pig and the Merino sheep, at altitudes that vary between 600 and 900 meters. Each plot, with its own history and character, is personally cared for by them, predominantly on south-facing slopes, under dryland conditions and following ecological practices.

The red slate soils give a distinctive personality to the wines. Every day, the roots of the vines delve into the fissures of the rock in search of thermal stability, influencing the mineral character of the wine.

A Living Legacy

"Each year, the renewal of flowers and fruits brings with it life and a creative energy that enriches the earth, keeping it vibrant and orderly" . In certain wines, they use old local jars, with centuries of history, convinced that clay retains memories, the result of the legacy of artisans who modeled with limited resources but with great wisdom. Their project is an effort to rescue forgotten knowledge, traditions and cultures.
