Dynastic Changes in Baron
-Year 1630 -
The beginning of Bodegas Barón dates back to 1630 with the Romero de la Balsa family, a well-known family in the history of Sanlúcar de Barrameda. It begins before the conflict of Felipe IV, against the Duke of Medina-Sidonia.
-Year 1895 -
Don Anselmo Paz, together with his wife Dolores Romero, sells the soleras to Don Manuel Barón Fernández. With this family they maintain 3 and a half centuries of tradition, always maintaining the history and craftsmanship in the production of their wines.
-Year 1984 -
For the next change, 89 years have to pass, when Don José Rodríguez Jiménez, from Sanlúcar, begins with great hopes and desire to restore the prestige of Bodegas Barón. The beginnings were not easy, since he could not start his career, due to problems with inheritance, until after two years. In 1989, it acquired the bottling train, which meant an improvement in productivity, as well as the search for and acquisition of new customers. In 2006, three very favorable events occurred for Bodegas Barón, which were: the Sale of the Parpalana Vineyard, the Purchase of the El Poedo Vineyard and the works of the new facilities, originating new plantations. Don José Rodríguez Jiménez passed away in February 2011, after having done a great job and work for these renowned wineries.
-Year 2011 -
As of 2011, Don José Rodríguez Carrasco and Don Juan Luís Rodríguez Carrasco continue their father's unbeatable career. They opted for a change of image to adapt to the new times and also to make their way in the difficult international market. In 2014, they created a new image, more current and more innovative, which we enjoy today.
