With our First Day of Harvest we want top an homage to the magic of the first day, when the farmer sees the fruit of a year´s labours. We design a new label every year, with the invaluable help of personalities from the worlds of culture.


Castillo de Canena, located between the towns of Ébeda and Baeza, in Jaen, produces two extraordinary extra virgin olive oils from the olives collected on the First Day of Harvest in Picual and Arbequina, bottled in a characteristic red bottle of very reduced. The labeling is modified every year with the collaboration of some personality from the arts, sciences or society, highlighting some factor of that special day: the First Day of Harvest. Castillo de Canena First Day of Harvest Arbequina is one of the most recognized high-end oils in Spain, with its unmistakable bright red bottle

Mechanical collection by vibration through umbrellas. Maximum extraction four hours after harvesting using a centrifuge. Storage in stainless steel tanks with nitrogen atmosphere. Acidity 0.12º.

Light green, bright. Vegetable aromas of fresh grass, fruits such as green apples and vegetables such as tomatoes. Notes of dried fruits such as almonds and walnuts. In the mouth it is fluid, with a slight bitterness, very balanced and a certain final astringency.

Salad dressing and vinaigrettes, gazpachos, Iberian ham.
