DV+ Wine is a Red Wine made from 3 grapes, Graciano (40%), Merlot (40%) and Cavernet Sauvignon (20%), where the soils are stony and limestone.
It is an "all terrain" wine, powerful and voluminous, with a long route, Mediterranean essence and a wide spectrum.
The 2005 and 2006 vintages were awarded the Gold Medal at the Brussels World Competition in 2010 and 2011 respectively. The 2007 vintage was chosen by David Seijas (sommelier at El Bulli restaurant in Ferrá Adriá) for his book "113 wines for 2013".
The winery is a convent of ancient Trinitarian monges (The Reformed Order of the Barefoot Trinitarians), due to the landslides it had to be abandoned and only the oldest monges of the convent remained in charge of the orchards, hence the name of the winery "Descalzos Viejos" (Old Barefoot).
The current owners, Paco and Flavio, both architects, told us that when the convent was restored, frescoes of Santa Justa and Santa Rufina appeared on the main altar, and they decided to make some wines in their honour that you can find on the website.
