La Fleur is a aoleado Palomino from the Pago Balbaina Baja, in El Puerto de Santa María, who has been brought up under a flower veil for two years. A wine with which Bodegas Forlong pays tribute to the way of doing that created and strengthened the Marco de Jérez. Sharp nose that screams at us that the sea is near and a sharp mouth, masterfully combining verticality and tension.
La Fleur is white wine. This wine is one of the last creatures that has seen the light of the hand of Alejandro Narváez and Rocío Áspera, two great artists, true interpreters of the Palomino Fino and the Albariza through Bodega de Forlong, where they are able to produce up to five different white wines, all from Palomino planted in Albariza land, of different pagos and with different elaborations. La Fleur, the flower, is a superb French wink to that flower veil that covers the fine wine and protects it from oxidation, with two years of biological aging under a flower veil after fermentation in the boot. A wine that is very worth trying.
Made with Palomino Fino grapes planted in the Pago de Balbaina Baja, in the area of El Puerto de Santa María, on Albariza soil. The grapes harvested by hand, undergo the ancestral process of sunning, to concentrate the sugar of the grape, the aromas and reach a higher potential alcoholic strength. The grapes are pressed and the must is fermented in 500-liter sherry boots for natural fermentation and then for two years in the same 500 and 600 L boots with the natural development of the flower veil. It does not leak. Very limited production to less than 1000 bottles of 50 cl.
