Once again we are surprised by the boys from Bodegas Forlong, Alejandro Narváez and Rocío Áspera, with this new white wine from Palomino on albariza, from their own vineyard in the middle of Pago de Balbaina, in the municipality of El Puerto de Santa María.
Forlong Mon Amour is a white wine fermented in French oak barrels and with a long aging on lees of about 10 months. The result is, as some national critics have already defined it, an Andalusian Leflaive, a clear allusion to one of the great targets of Burgundy. Indeed, here Alexander, of maternal French descent, has elaborated his particular Burgundy, hence the name.
Made with a double selection of bunch and grain, on a selection table, and the must worked in cold and inert atmosphere, this ferments in French oak barrels, and with a periodic battonage, its lees are worked for ten months, which is the period aging on lees in the barrel itself. Bottled without filtering or clarifying.
Intense golden yellow color, it shows density in the glass, with a lot of tears. On the nose exotic notes of tropical fruit, white flowers, balsamic and citrus appear, all in a complex and wide setting. In the mouth it highlights a delicious acidity, it is rocky, saline, powerful and very long, with a long journey.
