This Petit Verdot, with aromas of mint, pepper, spices and a touch of dark chocolate, has been harvested by hand, handcrafted and aged in oak barrels for six months. Its great body makes it have a velvety taste, which gives it an appreciable balance on the palate.
The small and familiar Hermanos Holgado winery located in Villamartín (Cádiz) produces this Petit Verdot in an artisanal and ecological way with six months of aging in French oak barrels. Hermanos Holgado owns its own vineyard in the so-called Dehesa Palomino in the Natural Park of Los Alcornocales, and this Petit Verdot is an example of how well adapted this variety is in the Sierra de Cádiz.
Own vineyard of ecological agriculture. Petit verdot variety harvested by hand, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at around 28ºC. Malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels and subsequent aging of about 6 months in them.
Pairings: Red veal, game stews, roasts, not very cured cheese,?
Tasting notes: Very vivid, intense color, with a good layer. Medium intensity nose with notes of youth such as red fruits, notes of aromatic herbs, spices. On the palate it is powerful, with a good attack, with still somewhat hard tannins that will make it evolve well in the bottle.
