Barbazul Blanco is a white wine made with the queen of white grapes: Chardonnay. Although, the Huerta de Albalá winery is located in Arcos de la Frontera (Cádiz), between the Sierra de Grazalema and the Bornos marsh, the grapes of this wine come from one of the most emblematic vineyards in Jerez: Pago Balbaina. Vicente Tabener (the owner of Huerta de Albalá) bought the winery from Osborne, preserving experimental plots with other varieties of grapes. This where the first white wine from the winery comes from.
The grapes are harvested manually and once they reach the cellar they are de-stemmed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for 20 days at a temperature of 12 degrees.
The wine has a sparkling, fresh and very fruity taste.
For this wine, Vicente Taberner and the whole team of Bodega Huerta de Albalá have managed to extract the essence of the terrain of Cadiz and, at the same time, the essence of the grape variety, creating an elegant and well-structured wine.
