The Red Vermouth Lustau is a vermouth wine belonging to the Emilio Lustau Winery. It is a wine from Cadiz made with Palomino and Pedro Ximénez grapes.

This wine belongs to a traditional winery in Jerez: Bodega Emilio Lustau, which together with its winemaker Manuel Lozano, have managed to extract the pure essence of the Jerez tradition, joining two wines with more than 10 years of aging in the traditional and genuine Solera and Criaderas, where the wine of Sherry is the authentic protagonist.

One of his productions, Vermouth Lustau is a greedy, pleasant appetizer, very unctuous in its passage through the mouth, and an end with its bitter fair. Two wines: Amontillado, dry and with character and Pedro Ximénez, sweet and velvety. There are two varieties of grape (Palomino and Pedro Ximénez), two “crianzas” (Biological and Oxidative).

This breeding system allows obtain a product with a homogeneous quality and typified over the years, in which the impact of the vintage is minimized. This provides a stable base for the elaboration of the Vermouth de Jerez.

The main botanists employed in the elaboration of the Vermouth de Jerez Lustau are:

- Absinthe: Provides the characteristic bitterness of Vermouth.

- Gentian. It offers strengthens astringency.

- Cilantro. It’s very aromatic. Offers citrus and herbaceous notes

- Sage. Contribute with bitter notes and subtly spicy.

- Orange bark. Contribute with citrus scents and freshness.

Its colour is mahogany with reddish tones, intense aroma, where it mixes the ripe fruit that are interlaced with the citrus and herbaceous notes on a background with nuances of smoked wood.

You can tell this while serving:  Traditionally the vermouth has been elaborated with wines of "inferior quality", or in other better expressed way: wines unpacked, due to its character is mitigated when infused with dozens of plants, spices and roots. Nevertheless, in this case two wines of great quality are used: a dry amontillado and with character with 10 years of aging, and a sweet wine Pedro Ximenez, of sweet knowledge, intense and velvety.
