Rey Fernando de Castilla Amontillado Antique is a sherry wine made with Palomino grapes and aged for 20 years. It is an amber coloured wine, rich in aromas, delicate, complex and long on the palate.
Developed through a biological ageing process for more than five years, the wine is encabezado (fortified to increase the level of alcohol) to 19° and then subjected to oxidative ageing.
The annual production is approximately 4,000 bottles.
At first glance, the wine is iodized amber. It has a pungent and aromatic aroma. Once in the mouth, it reveals elegant sensations of almonds. It is enveloping and dry, with long aftertaste.
It is perfect to pair with elaborate dishes, as well as white meats, blue fish and cured cheeses.
The ideal temperature for serving services is between 12 and 16°C.
You can share this when serving the wine: Bodegas Rey Fernando de Castilla receives its name in honour of the king with this name, also known as "El Santo", who conquered much of Andalusia in the thirteenth century and who discovered the exceptional qualities of soil and climate for producing wines.
