The Sánchez Romate Hermanos winery is the official supplier of the Spanish Royal House, of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom and of the Holy Apostolic Palace of the Vatican. "Old & Plus" is a wine from Jerez out of the ordinary and with an absolutely unique character.

The range of Sherry wines "Old & Plus" brings together the most select and chosen production of Sánchez Romate Hermanos. They are the best kept treasure of the winery: truly unique wines, certified by the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin of Sherry with the rating "Very Old Rare Sherry" (VORS).

This coveted seal (VORS) is awarded to the few wines that exceed thirty years of age after having passed a rigorous process of control (batch to batch) by a committee of independent experts of the Regulatory Board in which they are carried out exhaustive Analytical tests with Carbon 14 that endorse, in a scientific way, the average age of the wine.

The "Old & Plus" of Romate are part of the privileged group of the oldest wines that can be drunk in the world, a list of jewels valued as "treasures of enology" by the most renowned experts.

These wines have an average age greater than three decades, but they contain particles of soleras that can easily exceed two centuries old, going back to the same origin of the winery.

They are specially selected wines that were traditionally separated from the rest by previous generations of the owners of this winery for exclusive consumption by family and friends, and that are marketed, now as "Old & Plus", for your enjoyment by lovers of good wine.

If the "Old & Plus" wines are special, its presentation is no less. Sánchez Romate Hermanos has dared to be inspired by the bottles of the "Ship's Decanter" type of the British Royal Navy of the 18th century, of necessarily ample base to guarantee maximum stability in the admiral's cabin before the swings of the sea. A particularly appropriate format to "decant" old wines of this category, allowing maximum enjoyment of its organoleptic qualities.

"Old & Plus" are three wines from Jerez (an Amontillado, an Oloroso and a Pedro Ximénez) that are presented in an exclusive and innovative format, quite far from the classic bottle from Jerez, and very different from the usual bottles of reds or whites that we are used to seeing.

The grapes of the pedro ximénez variety are harvested very mature and left to sunburn to achieve a higher concentration of sugar.

For more than 35 years this wine has been aged and aged in oak boots following the traditional Jerez system. A high density, dark color, an intense aroma of raisins and a sweet and velvety flavor define their extraordinarily complex and soft profiles.
