The variety Petit verdot, although of French origin, adapts very well to the warm climates of southern Spain, Sierra de Ronda, Sierra de Cádiz, etc. and that was seen by the Jerez-born winemaker Santiago Jordi, planting in Jerez de la Frontera a parcel of this variety, which is giving him such good results.
The Petit Verdot Santiago Jordi is a red wine, which is made from the Petit Verdot grape variety. The denomination of origin of this wine is VT Cádiz.
Overlooking the Cartuja de Jerez, Finca Los Pinos is already a center of wine tourism where you can sample, among others, this Petit Verdot wine from Santiago Jordi, powerful, intense and with great personality. A clear example of an Author's Wine.
Own vineyard of the author located in the town of Jerez de la Frontera on limestone nodules of albariza. Cluster and grain selection in double selection table. Pre-fermentative maceration and alcoholic fermentation in different vats and wooden vats at controlled temperature. Later maceration and aging in Allier French oak barrels for 12 months.
Production limited to 1000 bottles.
Intense purple color, very high layer and abundant tinted tear. The nose is complex, with notes of black fruit, plum, toasted and spicy touches of aging in wood such as coffee or vanilla and a floral background of violets, all in a frame of freshness and vivacity. The freshness, balance, tamed tannins, polished make it silky in its journey without forgetting the forcefulness of a very varietal wine.
