White wine: a delight.

There is a great variety of sensations that we value little and yet remind us that we are alive, we are referring to the simple pleasures that life offers us: enjoying white wine: a delight, is one of them and the best thing is that it is within our reach.

Surely you have enjoyed this special drink, but do you know enough about it?

We tell you that there are different types of white wine: sweet white wine, dry white wine, sparkling white wine, fruity white wine and even white wine for cooking, depending on the grape used and the treatment it receives in the manufacturing process.

But what is white wine?

It is the product of the fermentation of different types of white grapes, it is obtained after a long process that goes from cultivating the grape to fermenting it for long periods, (it can be months or decades) of course there is a whole production sector around this delicious drink.

It is traditionally used as an accompaniment to fish, seafood and some white meats, but it can also be tasted alone, enjoying a sparkling white wine or a fruity white wine is the result of the work done by many people for a long time, this undoubtedly makes white wine a unique drink.

For this reason, there is a whole culture around this drink: usually on each bottle it is indicated which are the optimal conditions (temperature) that allow the maximum enjoyment of its flavor and aroma.

The glasses are also part of the tasting ritual, since for each vintage there is one that allows us to appreciate and enjoy white wine with all our senses.

White wine is a fundamental part of Spanish gastronomy as it enhances any meal and is a great aperitif, for this reason it is a product that is consumed almost all over the world and that makes the moment of the meal more pleasant.

This is heading element

The process, as we have already mentioned, is long and complex, but in the end an exquisite and quality product is obtained. It is possible to speak of 10 stages for its production, without taking into account the previous phases such as cultivation and, of course, the care of the vineyards.

It is also necessary to consider the steps after production, such as labeling and distribution, here we tell you about the production process:

1. destemming: the rest of leaves and stones are removed, although it is an optional phase, it improves the quality of the product.

2. Squeezing: this involves "squeezing" to extract all the pulp from the grapes, the result is known as must.

3. Maceration: this is another optional step, firstly because it produces a wine with a more intense color, and also because it goes against the light and fresh body that you want to achieve at the end.

4. Pressing: this involves pressing (crushing) the must that still contains the pips and skins of the grapes.

5. Alcoholic fermentation: in this phase the sugar in the must is converted into alcohol.

6. Malolactic fermentation: in this second fermentation the malic acid, responsible for the fresh, fruity and acid taste, is used.

7. Maturation: this is the time during which the must, already fermented and converted into wine, is kept in the cellars before being bottled and distributed.

8. Aging in barrels: consists of storing the white wine in a wooden barrel during part of its maturation.

9. Stabilization, filtering and bottling: these three processes lead to the bottling of the wine.

10. Bottle aging: all bottled wines do not go directly on sale, in some cases they go through another maturation process in their own container, which can last days or months.
