Malagueña Essence

With the 2004 vintage, the first wines were born from the Jorge Ordoñez winery in the heart of Malaga's Axarquía, one of the oldest wine-growing areas in Europe, famous for its raisins. With a philosophy of innovation and quality, but enhancing the values of the region, Jorge Ordóñez & Co. produces, from old vineyards, the autochthonous variety, Moscatel de Alejandría, naturally sweet wines of the Denomination of Origin Malaga and a Moscatel Dry of the Denomination of Origin Sierras de Málaga.

The Jorge Ordoñez winery recovers a Malaga wine style prior to the 17th century, when, with the first exports, the practice of leading the wine was introduced to preserve it from long boat trips. The naturally sweet ones were recognized by the Malaga Denomination of Origin in 1999. The main grape variety in the Axarquía is the Muscat of Alexandria, a very aromatic grain grape that has always been identified with these lands. Aroma of honey and orange blossom, of fresh and sweet grapes.
