Maurer & Winery Sons: an ecological winery that revolutionizes viticulture in Jerez
Maurer & Sons is an ecological vineyard, owned by a German family living in Jerez and with the intention of doing something different from what is done in Jerez.
Located on a piece of land rescued from the Guadalquivir marshes, and specifically in Lebrija, a town in the province of Seville. Peter Maurer , an agronomist in love with viticulture, managed to obtain the Ecological Certification for his vines.

The Maurer & Winery Sons, is located in a reservoir, which is responsible for irrigating the area and further to the west, is the Guadalquivir River.
The entire vineyard is planted around it with stone pines, each vine accompanies it, a small pine, which in the future will give them the necessary shade. It is also planted with aromatics, rosemary, cantaueso, which serve as a repellent for insects harmful to the vines. When practicing organic farming, the use of pesticides is not allowed.
Four varieties of grapes are grown in the winery: petit verdot, syrah, merlot and pinot noir, although it also works without cultivating the Palomino , Moscatel, Merlot and Tintilla de Rota. The grapes are grown organically, without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
The wines
The wines of the Maurer & Sons are known for their unique character and intense flavor. The wines are made using traditional methods, respecting the character of the grape and the terroir. Some of the most outstanding wines from the Maurer & Sons are:
DeRAIZ Blanco: an organic white wine made with the Palomino variety. It is a fresh and fruity wine, with notes of citrus and flowers.
DeRAIZ Tinto: an organic red wine made with Merlot and Tintilla de Rota. It is a powerful and structured wine, with notes of red fruits and spices.
Peter Maurer Pinot Noir: an organic red wine made with the variety Pinot Noir. It is an elegant and complex wine, with notes of red fruits and mineral notes.
