List of products by brand La Melonera

The dream of building this winery began to project itself one afternoon in April 2003 when winemaker Javier Suqué (heir to one of the most important winegrowing traditions in Spain) shared with his cousin Jorge Viladomiu Peitx the idea of creating something different, something With which to leave traces, and that at the same time paid homage to an entire life dedicated to the cultivation of the vine.

Tribute to tradition

With patience and care, the autochthonous strains were traced and recovered, to return them to that land bathed by the Mediterranean sun, by the Atlantic winds and by a tradition of grapevines dating from the time of the Phoenicians. The English oak and black Payoya are the reward for the good work of this winery. They have a great commitment to raising the vine. Not only, no pesticides or chemicals are used, but even in the La Melonera winery crops, the seeds used are extracted from the very fruits that the earth has produced, ensuring the purity of the entire process. They say that the variety is the taste, in the La Melonera winery variety is the rule. With plantations in pasture and outside it, on flat lands and terraces and with textures that include clay soils, loamy sand and some plots marked by limestone, with types of double trellises that generate root competition between the vines, with rings structures that contain them and that give them a privileged leaf surface and with the differences in altitude of a terrain that further accentuates the generous varieties of humidity and temperature in the area.
