Finca Las Mesetas, property of the Camacho family, consists of 60 hectares, of which 50 are forests. Family with an agricultural and livestock tradition, they have 1.3 hectares of vineyards located between Setenil de la Bodegas and Alcalá del Valle, in the heart of the Cádiz mountain range, at 600 meters above sea level, where the grape grafts were planted: Syrah, Melot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
MoreCentenary Tradition
At the end of the 19th century, most of the vines were uprooted due to phylloxera. The town of Setenil is therefore linked to its name “De las Bodegas”. The city's wine tradition dates back to the Phoenicians, although Roman times was the time when there was the most wine in the area.
Daniel Camacho, was the one who gave his father the idea to start a new production project, of a quality wine, in Setenil. Daniel, has enough enthusiasm to carry out the 5000 vines, with the help of the Jerez native Santiago Jordi, another young man more than enough prepared, Agronomist and Oenologist Engineer, who presides over the Spanish Federation of Oenologists and vice president of the International Union of Oenologists.

Vineyards
The vineyards of Finca Las Mesetas are located in a Mediterranean climate area, with mild winters and hot summers. The soil is clayey-calcareous, ideal for growing grapes.
The grape varieties grown at Finca Las Mesetas are Moscatel de Alejandría, Pedro Ximénez and Syrah. Moscatel de Alejandría is used for the production of sweet wines, Pedro Ximénez for the production of fortified wines and Syrah for the production of red wines.
