González Byass, in 1835, he began a passionate journey dedicated to the world of wine. He bought a small winery in Jerez, which he called Tío Pepe in honor of his uncle, who taught him everything about the Jerez wine tradition. This fine wine has been making a name for itself, nationally and internationally, until it has become one of the most prestigious Spanish brands.

Family Business

Manuel Mª found the best support in his maternal uncle, José Ángel, Tío Pepe. He was the one who taught him everything about Fino wine and began to forge the legend of Fino, the most famous in Spain and the world.

Encouraged by the continuous development of exports and the growing success of his company, Manuel María González decided to partner with Robert Blake Byass, his agent in England, to whom in a letter written In 1844 he recommended selling a wine, they were the first Tío Pepe casks sent to the United Kingdom. The business alliance between the Byass and González families was maintained until 1988 when the Byass family retired from the business and the winery passed to the direct descendants of Manuel María González.

Currently, it is still a family winery, presided over by the 5th generation of the González family who have always shown their passion for the world of wine, nature and support for the environment.
