Let’s get to know the first red wine produced by the La Margarita winery. It is a red wine made in Constantina, a locality of Seville province.

Pago del Zancúo was the first wine made by the La Margarita winery. It is an Andalusian red wine made in the province of Seville, specifically in Constantina, in the Sierra Norte de Seville Natural Park. This wine is made naturally from Tempranillo and Syrah grape varieties and is aged for nine months in the barrel. It is a wine that should be given some time to develop once opened.
On the palate it is ripe, fruity and rich, with liquorice notes, and pleasant and surprising taste. It is the flagship wine of these producers and was awarded a Gold Medal in the International Gilbert & Gallard competition in France, 2016.

You can share this while serving the wine: The name of this wine owes its origin to the area where the winery is located, some 4,374 yards from Constantina towards San Nicolás del Puerto.

In the fifteenth, sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the Sierra Norte de Sevilla became the principal exporter of wines to the Americas. There they were consumed by the both ordinary people and the nobility who appreciated their quality. Christopher Columbus, on his first trip to the new world, demanded in procurement contracts that these wines should accompany him on his voyage.
